Anthony Edwards has not been in the NBA for long, but he has already made a name for himself both on the court and off it. The #1 pick of the 2020 draft, Edwards announced his arrival on the big stage by averaging 25.2 points per game in his first playoff series against the 2nd seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Those performances led to teammate Karl-Anthony Towns stating that Edwards is the most talented player he has played with.

Edwards also played a role in Adam Sandler’s latest movie ‘Hustle’ which is now out on Netflix and he was praised for his performance there too. Ant-Man had an interview with Collider to speak about his experience with the movie and he also gave his pick for the NBA Finals.

“Celtics” replied Edwards, and he went on to say “I mean I love Golden State. I think they’re gonna win, but the Celtics just got so much, like they got Jaylen Brown, they got Jayson Tatum, they got Al Horf. If Al Horford plays how he’s been playing, I don’t think the Warriors got a chance.”

Edwards made this prediction before the Finals began and he was pretty spot on. The two games that the Celtics have won in this series have been Al Horford’s best games, with his 26-point performance in Game 1 standing out. The Celtics had looked like they were going to seize complete control of this series after leading late in Game 4, but the Warriors and Steph Curry were not to be denied as they tied up the Finals at 2 games apiece. We look set to witness some great basketball for hopefully the next 3 games.

Edwards hopes to get to this stage at some point after he helped the Timberwolves make the playoffs for the first time since 2018. They gave the Grizzlies a run for their money and will look to Edwards to take them to their first NBA Finals some years down the line.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
