Stephen Curry can now relax. He achieved his goal, as he surpassed Ray Allen for the most three-pointers made in NBA history. Curry broke the record at Madison Square Garden, the mecca of basketball, and was surrounded by an adoring public as he made history.

Many feel that Curry breaking the record is validation for him being the greatest shooter of all time. One person who also believes this is Stephen Curry himself. After the game, Curry said that he used to hesitate to call himself the greatest shooter of all time, but is comfortable saying that now that he has achieved the record.

“I never wanted to call myself the greatest shooter until I got this record. I’m comfortable saying it now.”

Curry clearly feels vindicated after breaking this record and has found whole new confidence. Curry will hold this record for a long time, at least until his playing career is over. Given his prolific numbers from the three-point line, Curry will continue to put up more three-pointers until he no longer plays in the NBA.

Reggie Miller and Ray Allen, the two players Curry has been chasing over the last year, were in attendance to watch Curry surpass Allen after he had surpassed Miller last year. Both players spoke to him before the game, and even shared an embrace, a picture that many fans are heralding as featuring the three greatest shooters ever.

After the game, they presented Curry with a jersey with 2974 on the back, to mark him surpassing Allen on the list for most three-pointers made in the history of the NBA. It was a memorable night for Curry, as the NBA world gave him his flowers on this history-making achievement. Curry can now stand alone at the mountaintop as the greatest shooter of all time.
