Draymond Green and Stephen Curry have played together ever since Green was drafted by the Warriors in 2012. Since then, the duo have gotten to see each other rise to a level never seen before, and have been key contributors to one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.

But the two were not destined to be friends. In fact, Draymond Green revealed that he didn’t think he was going to become friends with Stephen Curry. In a recent interview with both players conducted by Fox Sports, Green revealed that he thought they could not be friends because both players were very different.

“Not at all. We were just such polar opposites.”

Curry also added that their dynamic is almost perfect, as it creates the perfect balance within their locker room, with Curry being the quiet leader, and Draymond being the vocal leader. If either player were more like the other, it would have significantly affected the team’s locker room dynamic.

“If there were two me’s, it might not be as loud in the locker room as it needs to be at times. And if there were two of him, nobody would know when to shut up. It’s the perfect balance.”

Clearly, Curry and Green are two very different players and leaders. But they share a special bond, on and off the court. Green has become the orchestrator for the Warriors and is usually looking for innovative ways to set up Steph Curry and get him the ball.

After Curry set the record, Green and Curry shared a moment, with Curry embracing Green, showing how strong their relationship has gotten over the years while playing together.

Green and Curry, along with Klay Thompson, form the core of the Warriors franchise. And the trio will be hoping to take the Warriors back to the NBA Finals, and get back to winning an NBA championship.
