Andre Iguodala is the oldest player on the Golden State Warriors, and everyone on the team often looks to him due to his experience. He is obviously well-respected on the roster, and notably, he won the Finals MVP during their 2015 championship run due to his defense on LeBron James.

While there have definitely been other teams that Andre Iguodala has thrived on, he has recently claimed that the Warriors are a “special place” because he gets to play with Stephen Curry. Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle relayed the news:

Iguodala offered that within his greater mission is a specific task he has taken upon himself.

“Every team I’ve ever been on, I’ve hooked up these relationships, but this is a special place for me, in terms of just playing with Steph,” Iguodala said. “A lot of people close to the game, and our fans, I think we take for granted the special players and the special talents, because we’re too close to it, but you don’t meet too many Steph Currys. … That’s motivation (to me), to make sure the guys around him are locked in, because they can take that for granted, as well. He’s the foundation of it all.”

There is no question that Stephen Curry is a fantastic player. He has helped the Golden State Warriors become a successful franchise, and they are the first team to make 6 Finals appearances in 8 years since the Chicago Bulls. It is clear that they are the most successful dynasty of the 2010s.

There is a good chance that the Golden State Warriors are able to win another NBA championship this year. We’ll see if that actually does end up happening, but with Stephen Curry’s championship experience and talent, that could be a realistic outcome at the end of this year.
