Andre Iguodala Says Kevin Durant Will Be The 2020-21 MVP

2 Min Read

With the 2020-21 season inching closer by the day, people have begun making their predictions on Dark Horse contenders, the Championship winner, and (yes) the MVP.

Heat forward Andre Iguodala was among the latest to give his prediction, picking 2x Champion Kevin Durant as next season’s Most Valuable Player.

“I’m looking forward to seeing KD,” Iguodala said in an appearance on “The Match: Champions for Change” broadcast, via Warriors reporter Marcus White of NBC Sports Bay Area. “My preseason MVP [pick].”

A former Warrior, Iguodala was a teammate of Durant during the height of their run from 2016-2019. They had monumental success there, winning 2 titles in three straight Finals appearances.

Last year, KD left to join the Brooklyn Nets, where he has been rehabbing from a torn Achilles ever since. The 32-year-old forward is due back on the court at the start of this upcoming season, though it’s still unknown how much time he’ll need to round back into All-Star form.

Iguodala seems confident the Durant we’ll be seeing this campaign is the one we’ve been used to seeing for 12 years now. That guy is certainly capable of winning MVP, especially if the Nets secure the top spot in the East.

At this point, all we can do is sit back and wait and see for ourselves.
