The Los Angeles Lakers took home Game 1 of their second-round series against the Golden State Warriors behind a dominant Anthony David performance.

Davis described what it was like playing against the Warriors and Stephen Curry in Game 1, showering them with praise.

“You know who they are, there’s no preparing for them. They don’t have any steady sets they go to, it’s a lot of randomness, controlled chaos as we like to call it. They make it look good. We told guys to get their rest, and the right nutrition because this going to be a track meet. When you winning, they got Steph, Klay, JP, they don’t stop moving. We gotta get going from the start, so we’ll go back and watch some film but hell of a Game 1.”

The Warriors fell short by five points in the 117-112 loss at home. Stephen Curry was the leading scorer but had an inefficient night, scoring 37 points on 41.7% shooting. Davis scored 30 points to go with his 23 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks.

Anthony Davis Knows The Job Isn’t Finished

Anthony Davis‘ first reaction to the game came earlier in his post-game interview, where he gave the Warriors credit for their comeback against the Sacramento Kings and having a healthy amount of fear about what they can do.

“Steal homecourt. We know this team man, defending champions. We saw what they did against SAC, down 2-0, going 2-2, down 3-2, and Steph has a 50-point night to seal it off. No lead is safe with them, they can get hot at any moment but it’s just the mindset of the team to know we can win in this building. We didn’t do anything, we came here and got a game, but like I said, we know what this team can do and is capable of.”

LeBron James didn’t play as well as expected, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can find his offensive rhythm after scoring 21 points on 37.5% efficiency. Game 2 will take place on Thursday in the Chase Center.
