Austin Reaves backed LeBron James amid his three-pointing shooting slump from downtown.
Speaking to the reporters in the aftermath of the 108-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday, Reaves believed that James must continue shooting. “Let him shoot all he wants. It’s LeBron James… We want him taking what he feels comfortable with. He’s a winning player.”

The guard’s comments show the faith the Lakers have in James. The latter went 0-for-6 from the three-point line, as fans took to social media to roast him soon after for his dismal performance. Barring this three-point slide, the veteran did relatively well with 22 points coupled with nine rebounds, and 10 assists.
Reaves had a good outing himself, connecting five of his nine attempts from beyond the arc to finish with 22 points. He had some help coming in from Rui Hachimura who made 21 points.
Coming back to James’ three-point struggles, the 38-year-old has struggled to drain 3s. He made 19.5 percent of his attempts in the first-round clash against the Memphis Grizzlies and bettered them to 33.3 percent of them against the Golden State Warriors. But his prolific scoring from the region has seen a decline again in the first two games against the Nuggets. But it looks like Reaves and the Lakers aren’t complaining.

Austin Reaves has been one of the biggest talking points for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. He’s been the team’s vital cog on both ends of the floor, and his style of play complements James and Anthony Davis well.
