The Los Angeles Lakers were looking to end their road trip on a high when they took on the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. The Lakers had beaten the Knicks and Pacers prior to this game and would have been quite confident in their chances at a win against a side that had lost 10 games in a row.

It also seemed like the Lakers were set to win as they led for much of the game, but a terrible end to the 3rd quarter brought the Pelicans right back in it. The 4th quarter would see the lead change hands a few times before the Pelicans pulled away late, to claim a much-needed 131-126 win.

It is a hammer blow to the Lakers, who can ill-afford to lose to struggling teams like the Pelicans. Their defense was terrible, as they allowed the Pelicans to shoot 52.0% from the field, and this result now drops them to 25-29 on the season.

Lakers fans were outraged after this latest loss, with head coach Darvin Ham getting a lot of blame.

“Lakers blow ANOTHER game and the clips will probably get Kyrie. Basketball is painful.”

“I can’t do this anymore. I’m done”

“Fire Ham. His fetish for guards costed them this game. Rui and Wenyen deserve more minutes over Bev and Westbrook.”

“BRING BACK VOGEL AND GET KYRIE”

“Y’all stink man”

“I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS”

“This was a horrible L. We just can’t close out the game. Can’t hold on to our lead. Another trade is needed ASAP.”

“Trade the farm for Kyrie.”

“you all make me look in the mirror and contemplate life for 2 hours every single day.”

“Darvin Ham wouldn’t even get the Dream Team into the play-in round.”

“Seasons over”

“Darvin Ham is one of the worst coaches in NBA history”

“Terrible loss! Don’t want to hear how good the team can be when consistently dropping the important games.”

“AD literally had Larry nance guarding him the whole 4th quarter but still didn’t give him the ball in the post? This team is so unserious”

“FIRE HAM, TRADE BEV, TRADE WESTBRICK, GET KYRIE + JOE”

“What will the excuses be for these underachieving check collectors now that everyone is healthy?”

“Seriously, these Lakers would do better if you let Bron and AD make the rotation decisions.”

“Such an embarrassing team”

“traded for Rui for him to be benched the entire 4th quarter while we have a 6’1 dude getting cooked by Ingram.”

“lakers try to stay ahead after the half challenge (impossible)”

Anthony Davis had 34 points to go with 14 rebounds, while LeBron James had 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, but if you don’t play defense, it won’t matter how many points these two guys score. Unfortunately, the Lakers and their fans received some more bad news during this game.

The Los Angeles Clippers Are Interested In Acquiring Kyrie Irving

The bombshell news dropped on Friday that Kyrie Irving had requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, and all eyes were immediately on the Lakers. It was also reported that they were one of the teams interested in him, and fans were dreaming of a big 3 of Kyrie, LeBron, and Davis.

It seems there is a chance Kyrie might end up being a part of a different big 3 altogether, with Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that the Los Angeles Clippers have joined the Kyrie sweepstakes. This would be the worst-case scenario for the Lakers, and might force their hand to give the Nets whatever they desire.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely.
