Bradley Beal is currently the sixth highest-paid player in the NBA, with his contract value capping over $43 million per year. And to add, the Washinton Wizards veteran is owed a mammoth $207,740,000 over the next four years.

To put things in perspective, the only other players who earn big annually are Stephen Curry ($48,070,014), Russell Westbrook ($47,063,478), LeBron James ($44,474,988), and Kevin Durant ($44,124,845), with Beal joining at ($43,279,250).

When it comes to Beal’s contract. the annual sum isn’t the only thing that generates attention, it’s the duration and the no-trade clause. In 2022, the Wizards gave Beal his max salary deal with a no-trade clause. Per Spotrac, here’s his breakdown for the next few years:

2023-24: $46,741,590

2024-25: $50,203,930

2025-26: $53,666,270

2026-27: $57,128,610 (with player option)

What’s intriguing is that he’s played only 50 games this season for the Wizards, averaging 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. After the 2018-19 season, where he played all 82 games in the regular season, Beal has failed to get past 60 games after making it a baffling decision to have been awarded a plush deal.

The Wizards will probably be aware of the fact that the deal will be a bummer if he fails to perform at an average level and does not even make the All-Star cut, not to mention helping the franchise make the playoffs consistently. This also hurts their potential prospects and cap flexibility.

Bradley Beal To The Miami Heat?

With the Wizards likely to retool their roster ahead of the 2023-24 season, one of the proposed theories is Beal to the Miami Heat.

Miami Heat Receive: Bradley Beal

Washington Wizards Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA)

This is one of those deals that could work for both teams. Miami’s offense gets a massive boost, while Washington will have a player for the future. More importantly, well-thought-out roster moves will make it easier for both teams to stay title and playoff contenders. Only time will tell if this can come to fruition.
