Bradley Beal explained why he hated Michael Jordan playing for the Washington Wizards.

“I hated that he came back and played because I always wanted him to be, no offense D.C., I always wanted him to be a Bull for life,” the Phoenix Suns star said, per Wizards Reporter Chase Hughes.

This certainly comes as a shocker from a player who was formerly the Wizards’ superstar himself, and while one would expect him to be happy that he and MJ once played for the same franchise, Beal prefers that the legend should have called time on his decorated career with the Bulls.

While he was a smashing success with the Bulls, MJ was past his prime for the Wizards, but still managed some solid numbers averaging 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. But for Beal, it was more than the numbers, it was about the icon and his legendary exit from his career.

Michael Jordan Was Hailed As The Best By His Wizards Teammates

Not many expected MJ to come out for retirement for the second time, but he did and showed that he still had it in him. Per SLAM, His former teammate Bobby Simmons called ‘His Airness’ a “magician.”

Another teammate, Hubert Davis, also lauded MJ saying:

“The year that I played with him with the Wizards, he dominated every practice and he dominated in every game,” says Davis. “It didn’t matter if we were playing Philadelphia with Allen Iverson, or the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe and Shaq. In every game that I played with the Wizards with Michael—there wasn’t a game when he wasn’t the best player on the floor. We just didn’t have a very good team.”

This was the hallmark of greatness, and MJ showed that he was not one to back down from a challenge. Only this time, he could have done with a better team. But nonetheless, it doesn’t change Beal’s perspective.
