Austin Reaves was questioned and doubted a lot when he was first coming up in the NBA, but it seems that a lot of his peers deeply respect him. Brandon Ingram, who is Reaves’ teammate with Team USA for the FIBA World Cup recently had some flattering things to say about him in an interview.

“From afar, I’ve watched him,” Ingram told the Los Angeles Times. “The one thing I’ve noticed is that he’s consistent at how he plays and he doesn’t do anything outside of how he plays. And he’s really detailed on the defensive end, whether it’s him being in front of the ball, boxing out on a rebound, whatever it is, he does it.

“He’s going to forever be loved. He does all the right things — every basketball guy, which are the only really important people, the ones that know — really, really love Austin.”

Austin Reaves isn’t the highest scorer on Team USA or their leader, but he is fast becoming a valuable part of the roster. Having signed a 4-year, $56 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Reaves is seemingly ready to take the next step and could start doing that by impressing with Team USA.

Austin Reaves Has Only One Goal With The Los Angeles Lakers Next Season

Having become a firm fan-favorite with the Los Angeles Lakers, Austin Reaves will want to cement his role as a starter on the team next season. The 25-year-old averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for the team in the playoffs, and he will want to carry that forward into the regular season starting in October.

Austin Reaves could worry about how he will perform individually, but he has only one goal ahead of next season. The guard has his heart set on winning a championship alongside LeBron James and the rest of the team. With the way things have shaped up for them this offseason, that isn’t even a far-fetched dream for the Lakers, they should be contending next year.
