Brian Scalabrine Had The Lowest Rating In NBA 2K History With 40. Shaquille O’Neal Had The Highest With 100.

When we talk about NBA 2K, most of the time we focus on the flashy things, the high ratings and the interesting things we can find in the game. We recently talked about LeBron James dominance over the past decade, Kobe Bryant’s face in the next-gen edition of NBA 2K21 but now it’s time to talk about the ugly.

In case you don’t know, Shaquille O’Neal has been the only NBA player to boast a 100 OVR rating in NBA 2K and it doesn’t seem like somebody is tying that in the near future. Shaq was extremely dominant during his prime and that is the best sample of that.

On the other hand, though, we have the worst-rated player in NBA 2K history. The Red Mamba, Brian Scalabrine, boasted a 40 OVR rating in NBA 2K12.

At the time, he was tied with Byron Mullens of the Oklahoma City Thunder, recording the lowest rating in the history of the famous video game. Scalabrine never was a player who was constantly making headlines (at least not thanks to his game) and the 2011/12 season was his last one in the league.

He was on his way out and 2K12 decided to “pay homage” with the lowest rating ever seen in the game.
