  • Bronny James reportedly had a cardiac screening ‘some months ago’
  • The results of the tests indicate that his heart problem wasn’t caused by a pre-existing condition
  • Bronny James’ recovery process will likely take some more time

Bronny James has been discharged from the hospital and has begun his healing process at home with his family. Since his immediate condition seems to be stable, there is speculation about what his recent cardiac arrest could mean for his career.

There are concerns that Bronny is dealing with the effects of pre-existing heart problems, which wouldn’t bode well for his playing career. But according to reports, that might not be the case based on a cardiac screening he had some months ago.

“Bronny James, who on Monday suffered a cardiac arrest and was hospitalized, had a cardiac screening several months ago as part of a program for prospective NBA players, according to a source familiar with the matter,” CNN reported.

“The screening included a transthoracic echocardiogram – which looks at blood flow through the heart and heart valves – and an EKG, which is a recording of the heart’s electrical activity, the source said. Both screenings came back with normal results.

“The normal results of those tests are a good sign and likely mean the episode wasn’t caused by an anatomical preexisting problem.”

This seems like tentatively good news although fans will have to wait for further details directly from the James family. As LeBron James revealed, they are currently focused on recovery and staying safe and healthy, which is the priority.

A Cardiac Specialist Was Optimistic About Bronny James’ Recovery

The actual doctors the family is consulting haven’t said anything about the situation, but that hasn’t stopped other medical professionals from analyzing it. And a cardiac specialist has given an optimistic view of Bronny’s potential recovery

“The fact that Bronny’s already out of the ICU means he’s recovering quickly, I would anticipate that over the near term in the next day, two or three he should be walking around. If his brain function is normal, he shouldn’t need to be in the hospital for more than a couple of days. But the big question about a return to play depends on what we find out is the cause.”

LeBron James and his wife Savannah reportedly don’t care if Bronny can’t play basketball as long as he remains healthy. That stands to reason, but it would be an amazing story if we were able to see him back on the court after this setback.
