The Orlando Magic franchise hasn’t been around for a long time by NBA standards but they have had some very talented players suit up for them. They have also made it to the NBA Finals twice, on the back of some exceptional play from two big men.

Shaquille O’Neal led them to the Finals back in 1995 against the Houston Rockets while Dwight Howard did it in 2009 when they faced the Los Angeles Lakers. They are generally regarded as the two greatest players in franchise history and the Magic recently asked fans for their pick among the two big men. The topic then came up on Inside the NBA and while Shaq tried to brush it off by indicating he doesn’t particularly care about it, he clearly got a bit upset when Charles Barkley trolled him by picking Howard.

Shaquille O’Neal: “They ain’t gotta pick me. I sold my house in Orlando. I live in Fort Lauderdale now. Pick who you like.”

Charles Barkley: “I’m gonna go with Dwight… Superman is in the building!”

Considering how Shaq isn’t on the best of terms with Howard, to say the least, he was always going to react in that manner. He is probably right to think that he is the best player in Magic history, even though he spent just 4 seasons with the team. Shaq averaged 27.2 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 2.8 BPG in that time while Howard, in comparison, put up 18.4 PPG, 13.0 RPG, and 2.2 BPG in his Magic career. Dwight was clearly the better defender, but Shaq had too big of an advantage over him when it came to offense.

Shaquille O’Neal Doesn’t Think Dwight Howard Is A Hall Of Famer

O’Neal and Howard have had beef for a very long time as the former just can’t stop taking jabs at the latter. Howard has been a bit puzzled over the years as to why Shaq continues to have a problem with him but O’Neal stated last month that he would stop going at Howard, as his mother told him to.

That didn’t last for long though, as O’Neal questioned Howard’s Hall of Fame status earlier this month after his matchup with Sim Bhullar in the Taiwanese League. It is clear that Shaq is never going to let it go but whether he likes it or not, Dwight will most likely get into the Hall of Fame.
