Charles Barkley is known to be very outspoken, but he knows not to mix all of that with alcohol. The Hall of Famer had an incredible basketball career and has been making a killing on TV as an analyst on TNT.

For 21 years as a broadcaster, Chuck has always said his mind, without fear. He has commended players and called out others who are not performing to expectations, but all that might be coming to an end as he has clearly stated he will be retiring soon.

Having conversations under the influence of alcohol has barely produced great results, and Barkley realizes that. That is why he has chosen to stay away from the internet, especially with all the trolling that goes on there and his readiness to fire back if he has the time.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Chuck revealed that he does not do social media and that he will fire back at trolls if he did. When Pat asked if he would consider being more on the internet, he said (14:35):

“Never going on the internet.”

“When you’re successful, you’re gonna have built-in enemies. And then, the more successful you become, the more enemies come at you. So, I don’t wanna give them access to me. If you say something mean to me, I gotta say something mean back to you.”

Chuck went ahead to say that he is a big fan of Vodka and Tequila, and will always say something back.

“If I’m drinking my vodka or some tequila and you insult me, there’s a 100% chance I’m gonna say some s*** back at you. And the problem with being famous, Pat, and I don’t like calling myself famous, but it is what it is. People can say anything they want to me, and nobody gives a s***. But the first time I go crazy on their a**, I’m gonna get crushed. So, I choose not to let people have access to me in that situation.”

“I don’t even know what the hell a burner account is; I wouldn’t even go through the hassle. I’m the least electronic person in the world.”

Given his reason, there is no chance we will be seeing Chuck on social media soon, and that might be good news for trolls. He will undoubtedly crush it on there, but it might also generate some bad publicity the Hall of Famer will not need.
