- Damian Lillard thinks very highly of the Suns’ Big 3
- Lillard views them as a ‘Monster 3’
- Lillard believes the Suns will win a lot of games
Damian Lillard is certainly impressed by the Big 3 that the Phoenix Suns have assembled this offseason. Speaking at his Formula Zero elite basketball camp in Phoenix, the 33-year-old termed the trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal as a ‘Monster Three.”
“That’s definitely a Big 3,” Lillard said. “You get Brad Beal, Book, KD. I mean, that’s a monster three. I think it will be fun to watch. They’ll win a lot of games, and the goal is to win. As players of their level, it just has to click. They’ve got to connect. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did click, but that’s the most important thing is being able to click out there and to be able to work together towards winning.
“It’d be fun to watch,” Lillard added. “For me, as a fan of basketball and the NBA, and for fans out there, I’m sure it’s extremely exciting for them.”

If Durant, Booker, and Beal can stay healthy, the Suns will win a lot of games. That is a big if, though, as all three of them played fewer than 55 games last season. There are also some concerns about whether three scorers like them fit well together, but Lillard seems to think it will click. Another big concern surrounding the Suns entering free agency was the lack of depth, but they addressed that by bringing in the likes of Eric Gordon, Yuta Watanabe, and Keita Bates-Diop.
Lillard probably wishes he had a team like this around him, as the Portland Trail Blazers have never surrounded the seven-time All-Star with the talent required to win a championship. It is why he wants out, but the Blazers are still not interested in trading Lillard to the Miami Heat.
Bradley Beal Spoke About Coexisting with Kevin Durant And Devin Booker
Beal had a solid 2022-23 season, with averages of 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. Adding him to the mix means the Suns now have three dynamic scoring options, but there’s only one basketball, which raised those concerns regarding the fit.
Beal revealed though that he, Durant, and Booker can coexist on the Suns as they are all unselfish. He admitted that it won’t be easy to find the right balance, but it will work out as they ultimately have one goal in mind, which is to win. Beal also claimed they might have to yell at each other to be more aggressive, as they have the mentality of deferring to others.
