  • Luka Doncic is ready for next season
  • The Dallas Mavericks are happy with Luka Doncic’s progress on his body
  • Doncic reportedly wants to “take a step forward”

As of right now, Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the world, capable of doing almost everything offensively on the basketball court. However, the superstar has often been criticized for playing poor defense and being out of shape during his time with the Dallas Mavericks.

With that being said, it seems as though Luka Doncic has been taking things seriously this summer, in terms of his conditioning. In fact, his trainer Anze Macek spoke to Sportklub, and claimed that Luka Doncic is more “well prepared and better” going into next season.

“This is a well-prepared and better Luka Dončić. In Dallas, they were happy to hear about how seriously he took the job. I repeat he wants to take a step forward in his sports journey.”

There is no doubt that this is exciting to hear for not only Dallas Mavericks fans but also fans of the NBA. Everyone wants to see Luka Doncic become an MVP-level player that can be the No. 1 option on a championship team, and the key to that is of course being in the best possible shape. The Dallas Mavericks are clearly happy about his progress.

This past season, Luka Doncic averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. Though the Dallas Mavericks missed the playoffs last season, it is quite possible that they will end up making it and being a dark horse contender next year.

Former Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle Believes Luka Doncic Will Win The 2023-24 MVP

There is no doubt that Luka Doncic will be entering his best years soon, and many have high hopes for him. In fact, former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said that Luka Doncic will be the 2023-24 MVP. Of course, that depends on a lot of things: availability, the Mavericks’ positions in the standings, and the media narratives that happen during the season. Still, from an individual standpoint, there’s no doubt that Luka Doncic is an MVP-level player.

Luka Doncic being more prepared going into the season is obviously helpful for him in terms of producing at an MVP level. It would be no surprise to see him have a career year, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
