After the NBA Trade Deadline, the roster of the Los Angeles Lakers saw some much-needed upgrades. The addition of D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt to the team helped fans gain some hopes of advancing to the postseason after it’s all said and done for the 2022-23 NBA season.
Whenever a team adds new players to the roster, the said players need some time to get adjusted to each other. Unfortunately, time is something that the Los Angeles Lakers do not have this season.

“Knowing that we have every excuse in the world to use, are we going to use it or are we going to just kind of go out there and try to make something happen? … It’s not going to happen right away. As much as everybody are Laker fans in the world, they want it to happen right away. Just like any other team, you got to build.”
What Russell said is definitely true and applicable to a team with new players on the roster. But at the same time, if the Lakers need to advance to the postseason, they need instant results with just 24 games left in the season for the team.
