Danny Green Says Wives And Girlfriends Of Heat Players Were Celebrating By Team Bus After Game 5 Win

The Los Angeles Lakers came away as the ultimate victors of the 2020 NBA Finals, but that doesn’t mean it came easy.

Putting aside all the stuff leading up the Orlando bubble, the Lakers faced a lot of talented teams on their way through the postseason, including the Miami Heat.

In the Finals, the Heat did whatever they could to make things difficult, and celebrated their victories as loudly as they could.

In a chat on “The Ringer” podcast, Lakers guard Danny Green described the scene after a Miami Heat victory in Game 5 that included NBA wives and girlfriends talking smack to the Lakers at the busses.

It was in that game that Danny Green famously missed an open three-point attempt down the stretch that may have very well cost them the game. It was a low-point in that series for the Purple-and-Gold, who many felt wasted their opportunity to put the series to bed.

At the time, the Heat community was going crazy with excitement and beaming with pride. They were the only time that entire postseason who took the Lakers to six games.

Of course, as we now know, the L.A. would go on to win Game 6 and take home the title — so they got the last laugh in the end and the Heat will have to wait at least another year for their moment to shine.

But hey, it must have been fun while it lasted, right?
