Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the league, and there’s no doubt that he’s one of the most skilled players in the league today. He is elite at ballhandling, and nobody can match him in that area of basketball.

In fact, legendary guard Chauncey Billups once claimed that Kyrie Irving is the most skilled point guard to ever play the game. Obviously, that is a controversial take, but one that makes sense given Kyrie Irving’s ability to do almost everything on the court.

“Kyrie is a wizard, man. He’s must-see TV. I personally think, as somebody who played the position, I think Kyrie’s the most skilled player ever to play that position,” said Billups via ESPN’s Nick Friedell.

Obviously, there are few people that can go toe to toe with Kyrie Irving when he’s motivated and healthy. There are even fewer people that can match his skill level when it comes to basketball.

David Aldridge Believes Nobody Can Do What Kyrie Irving Does

There is no doubt that Kyrie Irving is one of the most unique players that we’ve ever seen on the basketball court. Though he has often been criticized for one reason or another, there is no denying his talent.

Recently, NBA analyst David Aldridge came up with a controversial take regarding Kyrie Irving. He claimed that Kyrie Irving is more irreplaceable to the Nets than Kevin Durant, stating that “nobody does what Kyrie does”.

“I don’t think they can replace Kyrie. It sounds crazy, I think they can more easily replace KD than they can replace Kyrie, ’cause nobody does what Kyrie does!”

Obviously, this is controversial simply due to the caliber of player that Kevin Durant is in the league. Kevin Durant is a 7-foot shot creator that is also a fantastic all-around player, as well as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. You don’t get to that position for no reason, and most people would agree that Kevin Durant is a much more skilled player than Kyrie Irving.

However, it is true that Kyrie Irving is hard to replace for any team. His shot creation at his height is elite, and we have seen him show up on the highest stage in the past. Perhaps he will do so next season for the Brooklyn Nets, and there’s no doubt that Kyrie Irving playing at a high level will be crucial for the franchise’s bid to win the championship.
