Dennis Rodman Once Said The 90s Bulls Would Easily Defeat The 2013 Miami Heat With LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, And Chris Bosh

Dennis Rodman firmly believes that his Chicago Bulls team from the 1990s would toy with the Big 3 era of the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat formed one of the best Big 3 with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. The three superstars took the Heat to four consecutive NBA Finals and ended up winning two rings in 2012 and 2013.

But were they better than the Chicago Bulls dynasty from 1996-1998 featuring Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman? Well, in a 2013 interview with ‘The Dan Partick Show,’ Dennis Rodman claimed his Bulls would easily defeat LeBron James’ Heat.

“It would be a no-contest,” Rodman said. “The Heat have the better talent than we had, but we have smarter players. That’s the only thing we have, smarter players. But guess what? When matching with the Heat, that’s easy.”

He added: “I would take Bosh out of his damn game easy. … How would Dwyane Wade match up with Scottie Pippen? Really? Scottie Pippen would guard LeBron easy. And Michael Jordan, how could you cover those two guys there?”

Dennis Rodman was a member of the Chicago Bulls during their second three-peat run from 1996 to 1998. The Bulls won three consecutive rings and established themselves as one of the greatest teams in NBA history. They also averaged 67.66 wins per season during that time span.

On the other hand, the Heat did play four consecutive NBA Finals, they won only two rings. By simple numbers, the Bulls were better than the Heat.

Dennis Rodman Claimed He, Michael Jordan, And Scottie Pippen Can Easily Guard LeBron James

LeBron James is a freak of nature and unarguably one of the best players of all time. Many have wondered if James would be his same dominant self if he played during the 1990s.

If James entered the league in that era, he would have to go against the Chicago Bulls to have a shot at winning an NBA Championship. Could he outplay the Bulls? Rodman is confident that he, Jordan, and Pippen would easily lock up the King.

“You know who could lock up LeBron? Me, Mike, and Scottie could. F**k yeah. I would have locked his a** up. LeBron is so easy to play. He’s so f*****g easy to play, he don’t have any moves. Only move he has is streak down the line. He ain’t got no moves. Where he going?? Where is he going that’s quick?

“That’ll be sh*t, you can stop that. Scottie Pippen would have shut his f*****g a** down quick before I get to him. His game is too simple, he’s just big. I’m 260 and 6’8” and 6’9”, that’s the only thing he got pretty much. I played against guys 7-foot, 300, so it doesn’t really matter.”

It was a bold claim by Rodman. But to be honest, there’s no way for us to find out how that imaginary match would go down. After all, James plays in a different era than the Bulls legends.
