After a dominant showing against the Heat last night, it became abundantly clear that the Denver Nuggets have no intention of fooling around and fumbling their chance to win a championship. In Game 1, just like they’ve been all playoffs, the Nuggets stormed out of the gate with amazing intensity and never looked back.
Once it was all said and done, it left a big impression on the NBA community. For 4x champion Draymond Green, he recently admitted to being impressed by Denver’s latest performance (and the leadership of 2x MVP Nikola Jokic) in a recent episode of the Draymond Green Show.
“Denver is not f******g around,” Green said. “They not playing with their food. Not playing with the breakfast. They eating their meal, getting it out the way. They did it in the first series, did it the second series, and definitely did it the third series. And they did it tonight. Everybody’s like, ‘aww man they in the layoff they’re gonna be tired.’ That’s a team that’s not messing around. Them guys been in the gym, you can tell. They came out guns blazing, locked in. That’s a team that’s locked in. I know the look of a team that is locked in.”

It’s hard to disagree with Draymond here. No matter how you feel about Nikola Jokic or the Nuggets as a team, nobody can deny that they’ve been the most consistent team throughout this postseason.
Game 1 was just the latest example of Denver taking care of business, and they are sending a message to Miami that they will not take them lightly. Of course, the job is not yet finished, and it remains to be seen if the Heat will have any answers in the games that remain.
Regarding Jokic, his play over the past few weeks has easily cemented his status as the game’s top big man right now.
Nikola Jokic Is The Best Player In The World
It’s not just about scoring when it comes to the Joker. By now, we all know what he can do as a playmaker and that element of his game has been on full display since the first round against Minnesota.
In truth, Nikola Jokic has no weaknesses in his game and until some team finds a way to slow him down or get in his way, the Nuggets are going to be a problem in the West.
