Draymond Green Fires Back At The Haters: “F*ck Anybody That Think Differently.”

2 Min Read

Draymond Green has always stood out as a controversial figure. Whether it’s his bold and unhinged play on the court, or his trash talk towards his competition, he’s a guy who has never been afraid to speak his mind.

Earlier this week, Green proved it once again by making a bold claim about where he stands among the league’s All-Time great defenders:

“I think I’m the best defender to ever play this game,” Green stated, via NBC Sports. “One hundred percent. That’s my opinion.”

Green was pretty confident in his words, much to the objection of fans. All over social media, people were going crazy with reactions — most of which were pretty negative.

After going after Tony Allen, Green only doubled-down on his take.

“F*ck anybody that think differently.”

The video referenced by Green is a call-back to a conversation he and LeBron shared a while ago, in which Draymond told the “King” that it’s okay to call himself the greatest basketball player ever.

“I think you should say that, you should beleive that, and I think you should definitely let the world know that.

I feel like for years, he shied away from saying ‘I’m here.’ And when he started to say ‘f*ck y’all, I;m here’ that’s when he became who he is and nobody would have ever said that until he did it himself.”

On the surface, it’s definitely easy to call Green delusional or prideful, but you can’t blame him for showing some confidence and hyping himself up. Sometimes, all it takes is some self-motivation and belief for you to take that next step.

While Green already has a ton of accomplishments as a defender (5x All-Defensive player, 2017 Defensive Player of the Year, 3x NBA Champion), there is still plenty of time for him to add even more.

It will be interesting to see what he does over this stretch of his career.
