Draymond Green is set to return to the Golden State Warriors after serving a suspension for engaging in a series of violent incidents with other players. In a recent press conference, Green conveyed a sense of urgency about his return, citing the professional impact of his absence.

“It’s urgent from a professional standpoint because I wasn’t hurt; at least my body wasn’t hurt. My mind was hurt, my feelings was hurt. But, it wasn’t like some injury cost me off the floor.”

“It’s very urgent cause I have cost my team enough. I have cost this organization enough. It’s not a time for me to just come back and be like, ‘alright I am going to take my time and get back when I can.’ No, like, you caused this yourself so you don’t get the grace.”

He acknowledged that while his body wasn’t hurt, his mind and feelings were affected, emphasizing that he had caused enough harm to his team and the organization.

Returning from a suspension rather than an injury, Green emphasized the significant urgency he felt. He recognized that the circumstances of his return were self-inflicted and distinct from recovering from a physical ailment.

With the Warriors struggling and sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record, Green’s return is anticipated to provide a boost to the team’s performance.

Despite having missed 12 games, he conveyed a strong commitment to pushing himself every day to meet the necessary requirements for getting back on the court. The Warriors hope that Green’s presence will contribute positively to their standings and overall gameplay.

Draymond Green Has Said All The Right Things Since Return

Since his return from an indefinite suspension, Draymond Green has consistently demonstrated accountability and maturity in addressing various issues. On his show, ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ he openly acknowledged and admitted wrongdoing in the incidents involving Jusuf Nurkic and Rudy Gobert, expressing remorse. Notably, he extended apologies to his family, teammates, the organization, and fans, taking responsibility for his actions.

Green showcased maturity when addressing comments made by Kevin Durant, handling the situation with a composed demeanor. Furthermore, he defended his teammate and leader, Stephen Curry, amidst criticism regarding Curry’s leadership abilities. This demonstration of solidarity within the team reflects Green’s commitment to supporting his fellow players.

In a recent statement, Green emphasized the need to shift his focus back to basketball, indicating a renewed dedication to the sport and his team. His willingness to redirect his energy toward on-court performance suggests a desire to contribute positively to the Warriors’ success.

During a recent reflection on his absence, Green candidly recognized the impact of his actions on the team, leaving no room for excuses. He bluntly shouldered the blame for any negative consequences, illustrating a commendable level of self-awareness and accountability.

Green’s statements reveal a genuine commitment to rectifying past mistakes and making a positive impact on the court. As he expresses the desire to return to action and contribute to the team’s victories, it appears that Green is focused on not just saying the right things but also backing them up with actions that benefit the Golden State Warriors.
