• Dwight Howard reacted to a fan thinking he was Kevin Durant

• The fan posted a picture she took with Howard and tagged Durant in

• Howard’s reaction was funny, as he shared it by joking at his own expense

Dwight Howard was approached by a fan recently, and the three-time Defensive Player of the Year gladly obliged. Funnily, the fan would post the picture on Twitter and tag Kevin Durant, thinking she had met the Suns’ forward. Howard didn’t take offense to the fan, jokingly sharing it on Instagram.

Howard and Durant don’t necessarily look alike. KD is literally known as the slender man for his lanky frame. Howard is slightly taller than KD and was bulkier, given his status as defense-first shot-blocking center. Howard looks like an athletic specimen, whereas KD definitely doesn’t focus on being chiseled.

It’s an odd mistake, but honest nonetheless. Not everyone is a superfan of the sport and knows what every player in the league looks like, from the superstars that everyone knows to the 12th man on one of the 30 NBA teams that only die-hard fans know.

Dwight Howard Still Hoping For An NBA Comeback

Even though it seems like Dwight’s prime ended a decade ago, he has been a useful basketball player when he has stayed healthy. He played a crucial role as a defensive center for the title-winning 2020 Lakers. Unfortunately, his style as a purely defensive shot-blocking center and rim-runner has gotten antiquated in the NBA.

Younger and more athletic centers for low-risk are preferred, as Howard didn’t get a contract last season and played last season in Taiwan. With even the likes of DeMarcus Cousins spending the end of their career in Puerto Rico, it seems like Howard’s NBA chapter may be over.

In his career, he averaged 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks, won one championship and three DPOY awards while making eight All-NBA teams, five All-Defense teams, and eight All-Star appearances.
