Tracy McGrady was one of the most underrated players of his generation. During his prime, T-Mac was unstoppable and played at the highest level he could whenever he took the court. McGrady played in the NBA for 16 years and was a perennial All-Star and All-NBA player.

On more than one occasion, McGrady even led the NBA as the scoring champion. T-Mac was one of the most explosive players in the NBA but was never able to secure a championship. He came very close in his last year when he was part of the San Antonio Spurs for a portion of the 2012-13 season.

Regardless of his lack of a championship, McGrady is remembered as a legend of the game. T-Mac is a perennial fan favorite and was beloved by many NBA fans the world over.

And after his playing career ended, McGrady focused his attention on baseball, pursuing a semi-professional career before walking away from that too. McGrady also spent a small portion of his career in China, where he is still remembered fondly.

So much so that ESPN felt it was necessary to mention that in his infographic. During an appearance on ESPN’s ‘The Jump’, McGrady was talking about a host of subjects in the basketball world. To introduce him to more recent fans, ESPN put up an infographic highlighting his accomplishments.

The accomplishments mentioned his 2017 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame induction and his NBA scoring titles. But hilariously, they mentioned at the bottom of the infographic that he was “hella famous in China”.

This seems like a lighthearted joke that was played on McGrady. And there is a lot of truth to the statement, as McGrady is one of the most beloved American basketball players in China. Whether it be China or the United States, McGrady remains a fan favorite.
