Former Knicks Star Patrick Ewing Tests Positive For Conronavirus

1 Min Read

The NBA community was rocked when Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, and other stars tested positive for COVID-19 in March. Upon news of Gobert’s positive diagnosis, the NBA promptly shut downplay and we haven’t seen a game since.

Well, unfortunately, it seems we’re in for some more bad news, according to an announcement made by former Knicks star Patrick Ewing.

“I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19. This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly,” Ewing said in a statement. “I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Now more than ever, I want to thank the healthcare workers and everyone on the front lines. I’ll be fine and we will all get through this.”

The 57-year-old Ewing is currently serving as head coach for the Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball team. So far, no indication has been on where or when he was exposed to the virus, but (as of this moment) no other members of the Georgetown men’s basketball program have tested positive for the virus.

Ewing is under self-quarantine and is expected to make a full recovery from the virus.
