Power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA, and there’s no doubt that he’s made a lot of money during his time in the league. However, it seems as though there are athletes who have even higher earning potential than a superstar in the league.

Saudi Arabian soccer club Al Hilal made a $332 million offer for PSG striker Killian Mbappe, with the club also reportedly willing to make Mbappe’s one-year salary at $776 million. Giannis Antetokounmpo reacted to the announcement, with him jokingly telling Al Hilal to take him instead. For reference, Giannis Antetokounmpo will make $45,640,084 next season with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo will still make a staggering amount of money next season. However, it is clear that Mbappe has a chance to become generationally wealthy simply by playing for one year in Saudi Arabia, and we’ll see whether that will happen in the future. As of right now, Mbappe’s transfer to Al-Hilal is still uncertain, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The Milwaukee Bucks Will Do Everything To Retain Giannis Antetokounmpo

There is no doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo is a cornerstone for the Milwaukee Bucks franchise, and has been loyal to the team through thick and thin. In fact, previously, the Bucks’ GM said that the team will “do everything” to renew Antetokounmpo’s contract, which expires at the end of the 2025-26 season.

“I mean, that’s our job. He is the most incredible human, superstar, teammate, and leader, I believe, in all of sports, and we’re incredibly blessed to have him. It’s an awesome responsibility to win and compete every year to be in a position to keep him. I think that’s my job and that’s my responsibility and it’s my opportunity and his opportunity and our team’s opportunity.”

“And Griff and (Bucks president) Peter Feigin share in that, as do our owners. I think it’s really cool to have that chance to be able to do that. We’ve been able to do it so far, and we’ll do everything we can to do it again.”

It remains to be seen if the Milwaukee Bucks can convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay with the franchise past his current contract. They have an aging veteran team, but if they make moves to become better, it is absolutely possible.
