The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the winners of free agency this year, as they retained a number of key free agents, such as Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, while also adding some new faces, such as Gabe Vincent.

With that being said, there is always the opportunity to be even better. Promising young big man Bol Bol was a free agent prior to him getting signed by the Phoenix Suns. Recently, Gilbert Arenas revealed that he told LeBron James to recruit Bol Bol over text, with him also telling James that he can bring out Bol’s dominant side.

“Bol Bol just got waived, come on, if anyone can pull out his dominant side it’s you. You, Rui, Bol Bol, AD Reaves, let’s go. AD’s safety net, and can create his own shot.”

Many have noted that Bol Bol is very talented, and there’s no questioning that stance. He has shown flashes of ballhandling, shooting, and shot creation at 7’2, and the potential to be great is absolutely there. He would have been a good fit with the Lakers as a potential frontcourt partner for Anthony Davis, but it is clear that his choice to sign with the Suns is also great, as Bol will have a legitimate chance to win a championship.

This past season with the Orlando Magic, Bol Bol averaged 9.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 1.2 BPG with the Orlando Magic. Hopefully, he has a good year with the Phoenix Suns, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Tim Hardaway Believes Bol Bol Is Better Than Victor Wembanyama

There is no doubt that Bol Bol has staunch supporters in league circles. In fact, former All-Star Tim Hardaway claimed that Bol Bol is better than Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

“I think he’s better than Victor Wamb… whatever his name is,” Hardaway Sr. said on The Carton Show. “Bol Bol has better physical talent and is ready to play in the NBA right now than Victor is…”

It remains to be seen if Bol Bol can break out and show that he can be a quality player in the league. He will have opportunities with the Phoenix Suns, and it is up to him to seize them.
