As Ja Morant continues to deal with the fallout from his drama-filled season, many have stopped to consider what the future may hold for the young NBA superstar.

Thanks to a series of very serious and dangerous accusations, Morant’s maturity and character are being called into question and he has a lot on the line as one of the game’s brightest up-and-coming stars.

Speaking on Sirius XM NBA Radio, ESPN’s Brian Wondhorst laid down the truth about what kind of future Morant will have in the aftermath of all these scandals.

“How many of the great up-and-coming stars in this league are American? The guys who are winning MVPs and some of the great young players are European. The new guy coming in (Victor Wembanyama) is French. Ja has a tremendous opportunity, a tremendous lane here, not only to be successful as a player but he’s got a chance to be the American face of the NBA which will make him a lot of money and make him very relevant for a long time.”

For Ja, it’s not just about his talent. It’s also the electric way he plays the game that often lures fans and businesses to admire the superstar.

“Nike gave him a signature shoe because they think he can drive a lot of excitement and attention. So what he’s got in his hand right now isn’t just his own career it’s also he’s a very important piece of the short-term and long-term future of the league’s marketability.”

What’s Next For Ja Morant?

We know that Morant is on track to return very soon for the Grizzlies and he should be in the lineup before the playoffs start in April.

Of course, nobody can question his game and the value he brings to the basketball court. But when it comes to his actions behind closed doors, it’s pretty clear that he let things get way too far out of control, and not everyone is buying that all of the issues have been addressed.

Nevertheless, the Grizzlies must press on and find a way to win despite highly unique circumstances. Let’s just hope that Ja leaves all the gun stuff in the past, or it could get in the way of a promising career.
