Jarrett Allen Believes He Could Have Helped The Brooklyn Nets Get Past The Milwaukee Bucks: “I’m Not Saying I Would Have Been The No. 1 Piece… But I Feel Like I Could Have Had A Hand In Helping To Get To The Finals.”

Jarrett Allen is a center who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he is coming off the best year of his career thus far, averaging 12.8 PPG and 10.0 RPG, while being a solid rim protector. He is well-known for his time on the Brooklyn Nets, and for being part of the blockbuster James Harden trade.

The James Harden trade was supposed to help the Brooklyn Nets win a championship this season, but they had some key injuries in the second round and lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. When speaking to SiriusXM NBA Radio, Jarrett Allen revealed his belief that he could have helped the Brooklyn Nets get past the Milwaukee Bucks. While he doesn’t believe he would be the No. 1 piece, he certainly believes he could have played a part.

That came through my head… being able to just play with that group of guys, I feel like I could have helped them. I’m not saying I would have been the No. 1 piece, the missing piece. But I feel like I could have had a hand in helping get to the Finals, help winning that, holding that trophy above our heads. It’s crossed my mind a couple of times, I’m not gonna lie to you.

There are definitely ways Jarrett Allen could have contributed in the Bucks series. He would have certainly given the Brooklyn Nets have another big body that they could defend Giannis Antetokounmpo with, and Allen is fairly mobile for a center too, which generally helps when guarding Antetokounmpo.

However, Jarrett Allen getting moved was necessary to complete the James Harden deal, which has given the Nets one of the greatest collections of talent in the entire league. James Harden and Kevin Durant are former MVPs, and Kyrie Irving has been an All-NBA caliber player. While they may be without Allen now, they still have a lot of star power, and they are one of the favorites for the 2021-22 NBA championship.
