The Philadelphia 76ers recently defeated the Boston Celtics behind an elite performance from James Harden. The 76ers guard notably hit the game-winning 3PT shot after Jaylen Brown made a defensive mistake and left Harden open for a corner shot.

After the game, Jaylen Brown ended up taking full accountability for leaving James Harden open and contesting his shot late, noting that it was a “gamble” that happened “at the wrong time.”

“Just a bad read,” Brown said. “That’s it. It’s a gamble at the wrong time. Big shot by James Harden, but that’s my fault. I take full accountability.”

To be fair to Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid had the size advantage on Jayson Tatum on that play, so doubling made sense in that scenario. Though Joel Embiid is definitely a score-first player, he made the right pass to get James Harden a good look, and the rest is history.

Though he made a mistake in Game 4, Jaylen Brown has had an overall good postseason run thus far. He is averaging 25.4 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 3.6 APG for the Boston Celtics in the playoffs while shooting 47.3% from 3PT range.

Jaylen Brown Could Leave The Boston Celtics To Be A No. 1 Option On Another Team

Though he is in a good situation right now, there have been many reports that have suggested Jaylen Brown could end up leaving the Boston Celtics to become a No. 1 option on another team.

“Jaylen is 26 years old,” a Western Conference coach said. “He is maybe the best No. 2 option in the league, or right there with LeBron (James) and AD (Anthony Davis), or Devin Booker-(Kevin) Durant in Phoenix. It is a good thing to be the best No. 2 option, but at his age, I don’t think Jaylen sees it that way. He is good enough to be a No. 1 option for half the teams in the league, and maybe he wants that challenge.

There’s no doubt that it is understandable that Jaylen Brown would want to be the No. 1 option on another team and the potential face of a franchise. He has most frequently been linked to the Houston Rockets, and we’ll see where he ends up in the future.
