Jayson Tatum is the heart and soul of the current Boston Celtics team. If it wasn’t for him, the Celtics might not have even gotten this far into the playoffs.

While Tatum is having a decent scoring performance vs. the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, there’s one glaring flaw in his game. Tatum scored a combined 64 points in Games 1 and 2 of the series but is yet to make a field goal in the fourth quarter.

Jayson Tatum in the 4th quarter this series:

– Game 1: 0/0 FGM, 0/0 3PM, 3 TOV

– Game 2: 0/3 FGM, 0/3 3PM, 2 TOV

He didn’t even attempt a shot in the fourth quarter of Game 1 and went 0-3 in the second game of the series.

It is certainly a concerning matter for the Celtics, who now trail the series 0-2. Tatum needs to pick up the slack in final quarters of the series because, as of now, the Heat are toying with his team.

Jayson Tatum Thinks The Celtics Can Make A Comeback After Going Down 0-2 In The Series

The Boston Celtics were viewed as the heavy favorites to win the Eastern Conference Finals. Why wouldn’t they be? They were the second seed in the East, while the Heat were the eighth.

After losing both games at home, Jayson Tatum talked shared his honest opinion of the Celtics still having a chance at making a comeback in the series.

“It’s tough, it’s a challenge,” Tatum said about being down 2-0. “It’s no point being up here sad and sh*t. They came in and won two games. They played well you give them credit. But we’re not dead or anything, we got a great opportunity. I still have the utmost confidence, everybody has the utmost confidence. We just got to get ready for Game 3.”

It’s great to see that Tatum still has the confidence in his team to get back in the series, but it’s easier said than done. Jimmy Butler is on a mission this postseason, and he is destroying every team that stands in his way. As of now, the Celtics are the obstacle in his road to the NBA Finals.

Can Jayson Tatum and co. lay the groundwork for a comeback in Game 3? Or will they go further down the hole? We will find out soon.
