Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat in 2019, and it was a perfect match. Since joining the team, Butler has led them to two NBA Finals appearances.

If the 33-year-old wins the NBA title this season, he will go down as one of the best players to ever play for the franchise. Speaking of his move to the Heat, Butler recently revealed it was Dwyane Wade who told him about the culture of the franchise.

“My style of leadership works here,” Butler said. “But more than anything, I got to give a shout-out to Dwyane Wade. He always told me about this culture and how I fit here. It really is a match made in heaven. I love it here, and I hope to be here.”

Dwyane Wade is regarded as the best player in the history of the Miami Heat. He won three rings with the team and has his jersey retired. Evidently, Wade knew everything about the culture of the team and how someone like Butler will fit in it.

Well, Wade’s prediction turned out great, as Butler is about to play the second NBA Finals of his career since joining the Heat. The fanbase will hope that he can follow in the footsteps of Wade and lead the organization to an NBA Championship.

Jimmy Butler Wants To Retire With The Miami Heat

Jimmy Butler turned 33 years old last September. Sure, he has a couple of good years left in him, but he will retire from the NBA in the foreseeable future.

Ahead of the 2023 NBA Finals, Butler was asked about his thoughts on retiring from the league. Butler shared that he wants to retire from the NBA while donning the jersey of the Miami Heat.

It’s good to see Butler showing his loyalty to the franchise that gave him an opportunity to showcase his true potential to the entire world.
