The Miami Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night, but it was just their second win in 6 games. They were a shot away from the NBA Finals last season, but find themselves outside the automatic playoff spots in 7th at this time.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have been giving their all to get wins for the Miami Heat, but the team has been really poor at times. And Butler spoke about the main issue causing the losses.

“I mean, I’m at a point now — I think everybody is — where it doesn’t surprise us,” Butler said, as per Heavy. “We just really get bored with the process and I can’t tell you why and we play hard and sometimes we get back in the game like we did tonight and sometimes we don’t,” Butler said.

“Either way it goes, if we just play basketball the right way the entire game, I don’t think that we’re in that situation more often than not. But, for some odd reason, we think it’s gonna be easy, so we just go out there and go through the motions.”

The Miami Heat suffered a demoralizing loss against the New York Knicks just before they beat the Atlanta Hawks, so Butler’s frustration is easy enough to understand. The team responded in the right way to his message too, getting a victory was of great importance to the team. But if they want to have any chance of doing well in the playoffs, they will need to win a lot more to end the season.

What Do The Coming 5 Games For The Miami Heat Look Like?

Jimmy Butler is averaging 21.6 points per game for the Miami Heat this season on elite efficiency. His numbers aren’t as impressive as some others, but he plays winning basketball. So what do he and his team have to face in their next 5 games?

Heat vs. Hawks

Heat vs. Cavaliers

Heat vs. Cavaliers

Heat @ Magic

Heat vs. Jazz

The two games against the Cleveland Cavaliers are of utmost importance. Miami needs to get 4 wins out of their next 5 to make a serious bid for the 6th seed. Beating the Hawks, Magic, and Jazz should be doable, but they will need to win at least one game against the Cavaliers. If the team can lock in and go on a run, they might end up being the most dangerous 6th seed in a while.
