Jimmy Butler took his talents to the tennis court on Wednesday night as he took part in the 2023 Stars of the Open charity event. Butler made a grand appearance there as a member of the ball crew for the game between USA’s Frances Tiafoe and World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.

At one stage, Tiafoe handed his racquet over to Butler to play against Alcaraz. The two played a point, and Butler won, as the Spaniard went easy on the Miami Heat superstar.

It was all in good fun, and Butler had a great time at the event, which took place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City.

It was held to raise money for humanitarian relief in Ukraine and managed to collect $320,000. The people in Ukraine would certainly be very grateful for that.

Butler is a huge tennis fan and has attended plenty of tournaments over the years. The six-time All-Star has also developed a friendship with the World No. 1, and Butler went crazy while supporting Alcaraz during Wimbledon earlier this year.

Jimmy Butler Offered NBA Finals Tickets To Tennis Star When The Heat Were In The Play-In Tournament

Alcaraz isn’t the only young tennis star whom Butler is close with. He and Coco Gauff are also on great terms, with the 33-year-old even attending one of her games at the Miami Open earlier this year.

Gauff revealed that Butler offered her tickets for the NBA Finals when the Heat were still in the play-in tournament. It speaks to the confidence that Butler had in himself and his team as they would go on to have a magical playoff run.

Butler would average an impressive 26.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in the 2023 playoffs. He would fall short in his quest to win the title, though, as the Denver Nuggets beat the Heat in five games in the NBA Finals.
