The L.A. Clippers suffered a pretty brutal loss on Sunday afternoon, losing on their home floor to the Purple and Gold.
After so much chatter surrounding their new acquisitions and the depth they had built over time, it must have been disheartening to be bested yet again by their greatest adversaries.
The Clippers finished with a season-low 10 assists and the ball movement they had displayed very glaringly over their six-game winning streak was nowhere to be seen. Kawhi Leonard blamed their pace while also giving credit to the Lakeshow.
“We really didn’t play with too much pace tonight,” said Kawhi Leonard. “We kind of came in the game on our heels a little bit. Even though we was up, it really didn’t feel like we had a good rhythm out there and I think that pretty much carried over to the second half.”
Kawhi Leonard on the Lakers having better spirit – “You gotta give them credit. They came into the game with a lot of energy. I feel like our pace tonight was slow on the offensive end. They came out and played a great game. They were aggressive all night.”#Clippers pic.twitter.com/3Ru4bkLZph

George, meanwhile, talked about the feeling of his team right now after the loss. He says they feel “good.”
“[We feel] good,” George relayed after the game when asked about the team’s feelings right now. “It’s hard to beat any team three times in this league. Y’all know that. It just is what it is. They beat us in the third game. We got another one. It doesn’t set us back. They played. They were the team that really wanted it. They went and got it today. We have to play them one more time. Life goes on. We’re not down about it. Just keep it rolling.”

Interestingly enough, this was the Clipper’s first loss when fully healthy (they are 10-1). This loss, no doubt, stings for them, but the Clippers aren’t going to lick their wounds for too long.
With their eyes set on the postseason, their focus on energy is making sure they are prepared for what happens in April, May, and June. It will be there when their inevitable meeting with L.A. will take much more meaning.
