Kawhi Leonard Reveals What The Clippers Have To Do To Win The NBA Title

2 Min Read

Things haven’t exactly been smooth sailing for Kawhi Leonard and the L.A. Clippers. Amid inconsistent play has been locker room/chemistry concerns that some of their best players aren’t getting along.

While the Clips currently hold the third seed in the West, they’re a long way from hoisting that Championship trophy this June.

In a chat with Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, the 2x NBA Champion revealed what his team must do if they want to accomplish their goal this season.

“We’re striving to get there,” Leonard said when asked to compare what the Clippers are building to his title teams in San Antonio and Toronto. “One thing is that you never know what’s going to happen down the road, if there’s like my previous teams, everybody just wanting to win and trying to make a sacrifice, staying confident.”

It involves sacrifice, staying confident, and even a little luck, according to Kawhi.

“I just think if we keep doing that, we can be successful, but it always doesn’t work to your favor. It’s a lot of luck in it — calls, making shots, people staying healthy. I think we just have to keep moving on the right track and staying positive,” Leonard explained.

Coming from a multiple-time Champion, those words definitely hold some weight.

But if he is to win with his new team, they will first have to learn to trust each other. The team has all the talent in the world bu if those guys can’t put some faith in their own teammates, there’s only so far they’re going to go.
