Kevin Durant has a case to be considered the best player in the NBA, especially this season. He has been on a tear for the entire season and hasn’t lost a game since joining the Phoenix Suns. Even before he left the Brooklyn Nets though, he was winning consistently, as shown by a stat that is almost hard to believe.

Since November 27th, when the Brooklyn Nets beat the Portland Trail Blazers, Kevin Durant has lost just 2 games. The last loss he played in came in early January against the Chicago Bulls, but barring that and another game in December, Durant has won every game he has played in. His record as a Phoenix Sun is 8-0, while his last 19 games for the Nets saw him win 17 and lost just 2.

This is massive from Kevin Durant, he is affecting winning at an elite level. His stats speak for themselves He is averaging 56% from the field, to go along with 40% from the three-point line and 92% from the free-throw line. To do this, while winning consistently and averaging nearly 30 points per game is unheard of. There is very little left to dispute that he is a Top 3 player in today’s NBA.

Kyle Kuzma Backed Kevin Durant, Called This One Of The Greatest Seasons He’s Ever Seen

While he did miss a large chunk of time with injury, he’s been out for 2 months combined since November, his work cannot be taken lightly. He wouldn’t be eligible for any awards if this were next season, thanks to missed games, but that doesn’t mean the NBA world does not recognize what Durant has been doing. Kyle Kuzma pointed out on social media that what KD is doing is historic in the context of the league’s past, at least what he has seen of it.

“KD is having one of the greatest seasons I’ve ever seen,” Kuzma said.

If he can win a championship with the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant will shut a lot of his haters up. And with him getting fit in time to ramp up for the playoffs, there’s a very high chance that he can pull it off. He hasn’t lost as a Sun yet, and if he can continue that streak for another couple of months, he might just get a fun ring to cap off an obviously incredible season.
