Kevin Durant is one of the best basketball players in the world. Durant gives the majority of his time to hone his craft to keep getting better at the sport. But no one would blame KD if he focused on his life off the court as well.

The two-time NBA champion has no kids as of now. But what’s the reason behind it? Kevin Durant confessed in an August 2021 interview with Bleacher Report.

“I mean, that’s a big commitment,” Kevin Durant told Draymond Green. “For one, I always felt like I was just really zoned in on my work and my alone time, and my free time. It’s too much for me to lock in on something like that, you know. And eventually, I do want that, but the older I got, I think it’s the better because I’m maturing more, knowing myself more, and understanding my situation a little bit more. … So I think the longer I wait, is only going to be for the better.”

Kevin Durant will turn 35 years old this year, and he is yet to have any kids. Durant did reveal that he eventually wants to have children. But it seems like the Phoenix Suns superstar is not ready yet.

As for his life on the court, Durant will be competing to win an NBA Championship in the 2023-24 season. Despite being well into his 30s, Durant is still a phenomenal player. He averaged 29.1 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 5.0 APG in the 2022-23 season.

Kevin Durant Once Had A Message For A Young Kid Wearing His Jersey

Kevin Durant has been in the NBA for 15 years now. Sure, he has played the role of a villain over the last few seasons, but Durant is still one of the best players of this generation.

Evidently, he’s a role model for many kids around the globe. A fan posted a picture of his kid wearing Durant’s jersey on Twitter. More often than not, KD berates fans on Twitter. However, even the Slim Reaper takes it easy at times. Durant had a great message for the kid.

“Salute!!! gotta go work on your handles or layups today.”

It’s great to see KD interact with young fans on social media. It’s a change of scenery around the usual narrative around the Suns’ superstar.
