Kevin Durant choosing to go to the Brooklyn Nets when there was a widespread belief among the Knicks’ fanbase that he would join them in free agency remains a thorn in the side of Knicks fans to this day. They can take some comfort in the fact that KD and the Nets haven’t accomplished their goal of winning a championship yet, and a lot of those fans take great efforts to try and troll KD on social media as well.

One of the few opportunities they have is when Durant plays the Knicks, anything can happen in a single game after all, and a win guarantees bragging rights for at least a short amount of time. But as KD himself recently found out after Brooklyn beat New York on Wednesday night thanks to a triple-double from the man himself, the franchise doesn’t have a win against a KD-led team since 2013.

Now, not having beaten a player for nearly a decade should almost disqualify fans from trying to talk trash to him, and KD’s reaction summed that up exactly when he heard the stat.

KD: “I know we’re 7-0 since I been here… Oh you’re talking about, since I’ve been with the Thunder? What year was that?”

Reporter: “2013.”

KD: *does a fist pump* “I got something to talk about on Twitter now.”

Durant is never afraid to engage with fans on whatever platform he can, and he is famous for being quite active on Twitter. Considering the level of conversation on Twitter though, he often gets dragged into some pretty stupid banter, so having a stat like that handy is excellent in ending those particular conversations.

The New York Knicks have larger things to worry about, with the franchise’s great season last campaign looking more and more like a fluke. And with KD unlikely to go anywhere else for the next couple of years, that streak is unlikely to snap if the Knicks can’t get around to fixing their issues.
