One of the most memorable shots in recent history was Kevin Durant’s against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7 of the 2021 NBA Playoffs’ second round. That shot was meant to send the Brooklyn Nets to the Eastern Conference Finals, but KD wearing a size bigger than he should have, ruined his team’s plans.

Two years later, one fan remembered that moment and explained how different things would have been if that was a 3-pointer instead of a mid-range.

The now-deleted tweet explained that this shot could have given Durant his third ring, James Harden his first one, Kyrie Irving his second ring, and would have prevented Giannis Antetokounmpo from getting his first ring.

Moreover, it also mentioned that the Kyrie Irving not winning without LeBron narrative would have been shut down, which remains a big story around the league now. It’s easy to say it now, but things would have been completely different if that shot had gone in.

However, other fans said that perhaps the Atlanta Hawks would have beaten the Nets and none of that would have happened, and Trae Young would have a ring after a magical season.

There are more scenarios than this, but this is the most interesting one. Wearing a shoe his actual size would have saved so much trouble for Durant after that season.

Kevin Durant Left Nets Without Winning A Title

Two years later, Kyrie Irving demanded a trade from the Nets, and Kevin Durant followed through, ultimately joining the Phoenix Suns ahead of the trade deadline. His tenure in Brooklyn can be considered a total failure, but things could have been totally different.

KD also failed to make the NBA Finals with the Phoenix Suns and many people are criticizing him for his decision of joining this team. Looking back at the past, the Nets had a big chance to make history, but things didn’t work out for them, and Durant had to make a drastic decision this season.
