The Boston Celtics made one of the first big moves of the 2023 NBA offseason by trading for Kristaps Porzingis from the Washington Wizards.

The C’s are confident that this move can get them over the hump this upcoming season, and Porzingis already shared his thoughts on this move, taking to social media to send a message to Celtics Nation.

“☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ let’s goooo,” the Latvian big man wrote on Twitter.

Nobody saw this move coming, and Porzingis reportedly wanted to join the Celtics ‘badly’ this summer. Now, the former New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks player is set to start a new chapter in the NBA and help the Celtics finally win the championship.

Wednesday was a tumultuous day for the player and the team, as the first trade, which included the Los Angeles Clippers, fell apart due to Malcolm Brogdon’s health issues. A couple of hours later, Marcus Smart was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies, while Tyus Jones joined the Washington Wizards.

Porzingis Sent A Heartfelt Goodbye Message To Wizards

Porzingis hyped up his new fans but didn’t forget about the ones that supported him for a season and a half. The big man also took the time to send a farewell message to Wizards fans, thanking them and the organization for having his back during their time together.

“Saying goodbye is always tough. Wizards org, my teammates, staff, coaches, everyone at capital one and the facility thank you! Going to miss yall!

“Wiz Fans!! Thank you for showing me so much support, I truly appreciate it and enjoyed every night playing in front of you. Wishing you all success as I embark on the next chapter of my career.”

Porzingis is ready to help Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown compete for a championship again. If he can stay healthy, the Celtics will have a big chance to make it to the Finals next season.

This can be a great pick or a total disaster, but as of right now, Porzingis and the Celtics are excited about this move.
