When healthy, Paul George is one of the best two-way forwards in the NBA. He is a player that can score on all three levels effectively and guard the perimeter effectively. Though he is one of the best players on the Los Angeles Clippers, it seems as though the franchise could explore a different direction.
A recent report from NBA insider Ian Begley revealed that the New York Knicks have had conversations with the Clippers about a potential Paul George trade. However, he did note that it is “unclear” whether the team is actually willing to move George.
“The Knicks and Clippers have had contact about a potential Paul George trade, per SNY sources. It is unknown if the Clippers are willing to move George. Marc Stein reported earlier that Clips gave rival teams the impression that they were gauging George’s trade value last week.”

There is no doubt that a shot-creating wing like Paul George would greatly help the New York Knicks. One of their issues in the playoffs was the lack of consistent offense next to Jalen Brunson, and George is a player that has shown he can perform at a high level in the postseason.
This season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George averaged 23.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG. He is the sort of versatile forward every modern team needs to win at a high level, and it’ll be interesting to see whether the Knicks make a move for him.
The Rockets And Trail Blazers Could Also Target Paul George
It is clear that Paul George is a player that a lot of teams would want, and it seems as though other teams besides the New York Knicks are interested in acquiring him. A previous report revealed that the Portland Trail Blazers and the Houston Rockets could be trade partners for George if the Los Angeles Clippers decide to move him.
“Lillard’s Trail Blazers at No. 3 in the draft and the star-searching Houston Rockets at No. 4, sources say, have been identified as potential trade partners if the Clippers decide that they indeed want to shake their roster up dramatically for the final season before the team moves to owner Steve Ballmer’s sparkly new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., for the 2024-25 campaign.”
As of right now, the Clippers have shown no indication that they want to move Paul George. However, things can change quickly in the NBA, and we’ll see whether things change by the NBA Draft this evening.
