Kyrie Irving has been at the center of attention in the NBA world for most of the last year or so thanks to all of his comments and his non-vaccination stance. This had led to murmurs that his time in the league might be coming to an end, with the Brooklyn Nets appearing to be non-committal regarding a contract extension for Irving.

He also looks set to lose his Nike shoe deal, with the company unlikely to extend his contract. Despite all this going on in the background, Irving doesn’t seem likely to change his ways, and he spoke on a wide range of topics at the “I am an Athlete” podcast which came out yesterday. He spoke about some of his regrets like his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and also some of his off-the-field ventures.

“In business right now man, I’m thinking everything you can think of, whether it be in music, whether it be in the NFT crypto space, whether it be in starting my own house underneath the house that I have right now at Nike” ” I brought a lot of properties in Jersey once I moved back, the taxes are horrendous, but I gotta talk to our governer about that s**t.”

Kyrie seems to have had his fair share of dealings with the higher-ups in the New York and New Jersey area since the pandemic began and it looks like he plans to get involved a bit further.

He might just want to focus a bit more on what is going on with the Nets and sort out his NBA future, or might just risk losing it all. There aren’t a whole lot of attractive free-agent destinations this off-season for Kyrie and if this Nets situation doesn’t work out, he might just find himself in NBA free-agency limbo.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
