Kyrie Irving did not have his best of seasons in the 2021-22 campaign. In a season where he missed significant playing time with injuries and dealing with COVID-19 protocols, Irving’s season eventually ended in an embarrassing first-round exit against the Boston Celtics.

While Kyrie started off with some great performances in the playoffs, he eventually fell flat against a defensive juggernaut like the Celtics. Given how stacked a team like the Nets were, pundits and fans alike were very critical of Brooklyn and Irving mostly got the brunt of it alongside teammate Kevin Durant.

Despite all of his criticisms, one thing certainly remains a constant, Kyrie keeping forth his opinions. From calling media pawns to calling out critics, the 30-year-old has never shied away from expressing his opinions. This time, the 2016 champion spoke about what he thinks is the true purpose of his generation.

“Every Generation Has Its Purpose. Ours Is To Reveal The Truth And Reverse The Brainwashing.”

Irving has called out not only to his critics, but for that matter, he has spoken of various topics relating to social issues as well. This quote might not only be a subtle dig at criticisms in the game, rather gives a great insight into Kyrie’s world.

Nevertheless, Irving already made a name for himself on and off the court. Be it his flashy dribbling on the court and his clutch shots, when he is available, Irving is right up there among the best guards in the league.

Next season though, the 30-year-old will be keen on expanding his legacy. While his team have been the favorites multiple times, luck clearly hasn’t been on their side. The 7-time All-Star will hope all of it changes next season.

Playing alongside Kevin Durant alongside the likes of Ben Simmons and Seth Curry, the Nets on paper will be one of the favorites in the East yet again. Can Kyrie Irving finally become a 2-time NBA Champion and win a title with the Nets next season?
