NBA Rumors: Lakers And Clippers Interested In Tyler Johnson

2 Min Read

With the playoffs just a few months out, the top teams in the league are gearing up for their shot at winning a title.

The Lakers and Clippers, despite having some of the best players in the league, are still looking for ways to improve. And while the trade deadline may be over, there are a number of high-profile names available on the buyout market.

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Tyler Johnson could be a guy both L.A. teams look at before the end of the season.

Marvin Williams is gone, off to Milwaukee. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is headed to Dallas, per ESPN. Tyler Johnson is out there, with the Lakers and Clippers expected to check in with him.

The acquisition of a playmaking, ball-handling point guard would be an enormous get for both teams. Johnson is no All-Star, but he is capable of producing some valuable minutes in the right situation.

During his best season, he put up 13.7 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on 43% shooting. For the Lakers especially, the addition of a guy like that would help improve their chances in the postseason. But, of course, Johnson is just one of a few names available — and it will ultimately be up to the stars to take their teams where they want to go.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the end.
