The Phoenix Suns came into the postseason with big expectations after acquiring Kevin Durant. In the regular season, they never lost with him playing, and that made people suggest they were strong contenders.

On Monday night, the Suns lost Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals, putting them in a 0-2 hole. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker weren’t able to score freely. And after the game, a Lakers fan used an old video to troll the team.

The Phoenix Suns tied a franchise record in the 2021-22 regular season and then shocked fans by immediately working out after the game in which they clinched it. The video then became a meme when they ended up losing embarrassingly to the Dallas Mavericks in last season’s Western Conference Semifinals.

The clip shared by the Lakers fan is snippets from that video set to cartoon music, obviously poking fun at the franchise and the amount of hype they generate before invariably disappointing. They haven’t lost the series yet, far from it, they still have a chance to advance, but the Denver Nuggets have beaten them quite convincingly in the first two games.

The team’s biggest concern now is the groin injury sustained by Chris Paul in Game 2. Not having him will have a huge impact on their offense. That is a recipe for disaster against the Nuggets, who already held them to just 87 points in the second game of the series. The Suns need to figure something out fast, otherwise, the trolling will be incessant once again.

The Suns Would Not Even Be In The Second Round If Not For Injuries, Said Paul George

The Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, thanks in part to injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. And some think they don’t even deserve to be at this stage. George himself said they wouldn’t have won without the injuries the Clippers had

“This was very much a series I think we should have won and could have gotten past if we [were] healthy. Absolutely I believe we had everything to beat Phoenix.”

Game 3 will be in Phoenix, and it has now become a must-win for the team. If they allow themselves to fall into an 0-3 hole, that is as good as losing the series. Otherwise, the floodgates will open, and fans from across the NBA will spend most of the summer roasting the franchise.
