LeBron James is on the verge of making history. With just 63 points, he will surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s All-Time highest leading scorer and it may all but solidify his claim as the GOAT.

With James so close to the huge milestone, the likely date of his record-breaking moment has already been mapped out and it seems more than likely that he’ll have the record at some point before the trade deadline.

Of course, he could go crazy and score all 63 in one single night. While James admitted he wasn’t sure if it was happening this weekend, he still says that 63 is something he can still do at almost 40 years old.

The Lakers play the Pelicans next on Saturday, and some fans have already joked that the King is getting ready to drop 65 points on their head.

60+ might sound like a lot for James nowadays, but it’s really not far off from some of the numbers he’s been putting up lately. This season, he’s had five 40-point games and is averaging a whopping 30.1 points per game on 50.6% shooting.

So, even now, it’s still possible for LeBron James to drop 63, although it would be a career-high for him after 19+ seasons.

Lakers Ticket Prices Reach Season-High Ahead Of LeBron James’ Historic Day

The entire NBA will want to witness LeBron making history, and it’s no surprise that tickets to the live event have reached astronomical prices.

There’s no doubt that James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be a huge occasion, and a lot of people likely want to be in attendance. The tickets for the Lakers’ have gotten expensive as a result, with a recent post from Bleacher Report revealing that tickets for their contest against the Thunder are as high as $92,000.

As great as the occasion will be for LeBron, we shouldn’t lose sight of what he’s been doing this season as a whole. Despite how badly the Lakers played early on, LeBron stepped up in a big way to keep his team afloat and competitive amidst various injuries.

While he may not jump high or run as fast as he used to, he can still read the court better than anybody in the game and has adapted his playstyle to maximize his role with the Lakers.

All-in-all, it has been a fantastic season for LeBron, who continues to defy all logic and sense by being so good for so long.
