LeBron James On Anthony Davis’ “Sh*t Defense” Comments: “He’s A Captain. He’s One Of The Two Captains That We Have, Including Myself And He Can Voice Any Opinion That He Will Like.”

LeBron James reacted to Anthony Davis’ comments on the Lakers defense and the King backed his teammate. The King made it clear that Davis is one of the captains of the team and he can say whatever he feels is right since he will lead by example, as he should.

After the Lakers lost to the San Antonio Spurs last Thursday, Davis wasn’t happy with the team and their lack of defense and intensity against the Texans. AD made it clear that they needed to get better.

“We gotta be better with our defensive schemes coming out the gate. … We didn’t play any defense. Our defense was sh*t tonight,” AD said after the game.

LeBron reacted to those comments on Sunday night after the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Houston Rockets, showing a better face to win their second consecutive game. James was asked if he liked seeing AD venting those frustrations to the media and he didn’t hesitate to back the Brow (8:00 mark).

“He’s a captain. He’s one of the two captains that we have, including myself and he can voice any opinion that he will like. Any facts that he likes for a ball club because one thing about him, whatever he says, he’s gonna apply to himself as well. He is holding himself accountable,” LeBron said, via Essentially Sports. “So when he holds us accountable, we hold him accountable, and he holds himself accountable and vice versa. So, you know, AD can say whatever he wants because it’s all for the betterment of our team. And we are responsive to that. So, we thought that was right on point.”

The Lakers are in good hands with these two. James and Davis have understood each other really well both on and off the court and the Lakers can’t be more excited about it. They know they have to get better, as LeBron stated, but they are on the right path. The purple and gold are looking good and it’s great to see that their stars are ready to hold everybody accountable when things aren’t going that well for them.
